Salary: £16.25-£17.78 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Sleep-in Payment: £60 per sleep

Contract: Full Time

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a brand-new children's residential home in Walsall (CH61). Working alongside the Registered Manager, you'll play a key role in opening the home from the ground up, helping to establish a positive culture, high standards of care and a supportive environment where children and young people can thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established provider with nine Outstanding children's homes, offering excellent support, stability and genuine opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the successful opening and day-to-day running of the home.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the residential team, promoting high standards of care and safeguarding.
  • Take responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence.
  • Build positive, therapeutic relationships with children and young people.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures and company policies.
  • Support staff through supervision, coaching and performance management.
  • Complete care plans, risk assessments, incident reports and other required documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with families, social workers and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people.
  • Promote a nurturing, child-centred environment where young people can reach their full potential.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working within children's residential care.
  • Previous experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager position.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential).
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management, or willingness to work towards achieving it.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns, including sleep-ins.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
