Search Consultancy is looking for an all-round, Skilled Painter & Decorator to join our busy construction teams across Darlington. We are partnering with leading volume house builders and refurbishment contractors who require tradespeople capable of delivering flawless finishes at a fast pace. If you are a Decorator who thrives in a productivity-driven environment and can move seamlessly from mist-coating new plaster to high-spec glossing and woodwork, we have immediate starts and long-term runs of work available now.
The Role
- Full Decorating Scope: Carrying out internal and external painting on domestic or commercial developments.
- Surface Preparation: Professional sanding, filling, and priming of surfaces to ensure a high-standard substrate for final coats.
- Application: Expert use of brushes and rollers for emulsion and gloss work; experience with airless spraying is a major advantage.
- Finishing & Snagging: Detailed touch-ups and final snagging to ensure every room is "handover ready" for the client.
- Productivity Driven: We need Painters used to the speed of new-build sites who can keep the program on track while maintaining a "snag-free" finish.
Requirements
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating is highly desirable.
- CSCS Card: A valid Blue or Gold card is mandatory.
- Experience: Proven track record in "house bashing," commercial fit-outs, or high-volume residential work.
- Tools & PPE: Full professional kit (including whites, brushes, rollers, and extension poles) and standard 5-point PPE.
- Reliability: Must be able to work as part of a team or individually to hit strict plot deadlines.
- Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
