Search Consultancy is currently recruiting for an experienced Painter & Decorator to join a commercial project in Ashington. This position offers an immediate start with a consistent run of local work for the right candidate.

We are seeking a qualified professional who maintains high standards of workmanship and reliability to support our client's delivery schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Ensuring all surfaces are correctly sanded, filled, and primed prior to application.
  • Internal & External Finishing: Applying emulsion, gloss, and undercoats to walls, ceilings, and woodwork to a high commercial standard.
  • Quality Control: Maintaining neat cutting-in, clean lines, and an overall sharp finish throughout the site.
  • H&S Compliance: Adhering to site safety regulations and maintaining a clean, professional workspace.
  • Snagging & Touch-ups: Identifying defects and systematically carrying out final snagging works ahead of client handovers.
  • Material Management: Properly mixing, thinning, and matching paints, while managing stock efficiently to minimise site waste.
Requirements
  • CSCS Card: Valid Blue or Gold CSCS card preferred.
  • Experience: Proven track record in commercial or high-volume domestic painting.
  • Tools & PPE: Full professional kit (including whites, brushes, and rollers) and standard 5-point PPE.
  • Right to Work: Valid right to work in the UK.
