We are currently urgently recruiting for 2 experienced Groundworker / Excavator Operatives to join a National Grid substation project at Staythorpe Substation, Newark, commencing on 8th June. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy contractor delivering major utility infrastructure works. The initial requirement runs through to the end of July; however, operatives who demonstrate the right attitude, competency and work ethic will have the opportunity to move onto future projects, with a strong pipeline of National Grid work available.
Responsibilities:
- Operating excavators safely and efficiently within a substation environment
- Carrying out general groundworks and civils activities
- Assisting with duct installation, excavations, reinstatement and associated infrastructure works
- Working safely in accordance with National Grid and site-specific procedures
- Supporting site teams to ensure works are completed safely and on programme
Essential Requirements:
- National Grid Persons (essential)
- Valid Excavator ticket
- Extensive experience working on National Grid substations
- Strong civils and groundworks background
- Ability to work both on the machine and on the ground when required
- Good understanding of health and safety within utility and substation environments
