The business is open to appointing this role at senior or management level, depending on the individual’s background, with scope to take broader responsibility for revenue strategy, key accounts, and commercial decision-making over time. The Role

Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities across a defined market. The role combines hands-on business development with the opportunity to evolve into a wider commercial or sales leadership position, depending on capability and ambition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Revenue Growth
    • Build and manage a robust pipeline of new business opportunities aligned with growth objectives.
    • Identify, target, and engage prospective clients within relevant B2B markets.
    • Lead the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to negotiation and close.
    • Develop tailored commercial propositions that align client needs with business solutions.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Build trusted, long-term relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders.
    • Deliver compelling presentations, demonstrations, and proposals.
    • Act as a commercial point of contact throughout onboarding and early engagement.
  • Commercial & Strategic Contribution
    • Work collaboratively with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations) to ensure effective delivery and handover.
    • Provide market insight, feedback, and intelligence to inform product development and go-to-market strategy.
    • Contribute to the evolution of sales processes, structures, and commercial best practice.
  • Management-Level Scope (Depending on Appointment)
    • Potential to take ownership of regional or sector strategy.
    • Involvement in mentoring or supporting junior commercial team members.
    • Input into pricing, forecasting, and broader commercial planning.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in B2B business development, ideally within SaaS, technology, or regulated industries.
  • Experienced in solution selling to large corporates.
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously in a remote environment.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to understand complex customer needs.
  • Experience selling enterprise or multi-stakeholder solutions.
  • Background in compliance, transport, logistics, infrastructure, or operational technology.
  • Experience with CRM and sales platforms (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Exposure to team leadership or commercial management responsibilities.
