Are you Level 3 qualified in Residential Childcare and ready for a new challenge? We are recruiting for a Team Leader to join a small children’s residential home in Solihull, supporting up to three children/young people with Learning Disabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career within a supportive, community-based home.

The Role

As Team Leader, you will work closely with the management team to ensure high standards of care and lead shifts effectively. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the management team to maintain high-quality care standards
  • Acting as daily shift lead and overseeing handovers
  • Planning and organising staff duties during shifts
  • Supervising and supporting staff, including contributing to appraisals
  • Providing on-call support on a rota basis
  • Organising rotas and ensuring appropriate staff deployment
  • Supporting young people with daily routines, activities and independence
  • Promoting participation in social, leisure, educational and life skills activities
  • Supporting personal care needs, including intimate care where required
  • Administering medication and supporting medical appointments
  • Promoting wellbeing, safeguarding and positive outcomes

This role offers a balance of leadership, hands-on care and meaningful impact.

Essential Requirements

  • Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Residential Childcare – Essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence – Essential
  • Excellent communication skills
