We are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Support Worker to join a therapeutic children’s residential home based in Cheadle, Stoke. The service supports children aged 4–12 years who have experienced early trauma and present with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
This is a hands-on senior role for someone confident in leading shifts, supporting staff development and delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care within a clinically informed environment.
About the service
The home provides a safe, nurturing and structured environment focused on emotional recovery, stability and positive outcomes. Care is delivered alongside education and clinical input as part of a therapeutic programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and maintain high standards of care
- Support staff development and model best practice
- Implement care plans, risk assessments and behaviour strategies
- Build positive relationships with children and professionals
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and regulatory requirements are met
Requirements
- Previous experience in children’s residential care
- Level 3/ 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour therapeutically
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work long days and sleep-ins
