Pay: £15.50 per hour plus £70 per sleep-in

The Role

We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the effective running of a children’s residential home for young people with Learning Disabilities. This is a hands-on leadership role, supporting the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, child-centred care and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Children’s Care
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Proven experience in children’s residential care, ideally with young people with LD
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, care planning, behaviour support, and Ofsted standards
  • Ability to lead and support staff, manage rotas, and respond to incidents
  • Confident in ad-hoc on-call duties

Hours & Working Pattern

  • 38 hours per week, plus sleep-ins
  • Shifts between 9:30am and 11:00pm, Monday to Sunday
  • Typical rota: 1 shift on, 2 days off
  • Ad-hoc on-call responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in day-to-day operations
  • Lead and supervise staff, providing guidance and mentoring
  • Manage rotas and shift cover effectively
  • Respond to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and emergencies
  • Assist with care planning, documentation, and inspections
  • Ensure positive outcomes and high-quality care for young people
  • Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
