Im currently recruiting for an experienced Social Work Team Manager to join a highly regarded private organisation supporting looked after children and young people across London. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident manager with strong LAC experience who is looking to work for an established provider with a strong Ofsted track record and a genuine commitment to quality and staff development.
About the Organisation
My client is a well-established private provider with an excellent reputation in the sector. They operate:
- Ofsted-registered childrens home (rated Good)
- 18 supported accommodation services for young people aged 16-18
- Approximately 60 young people in total
- Their 16-18 supported accommodation service has achieved Outcome 1, reflecting their focus on positive outcomes and robust practice.
The Role
As Social Work Team Manager, you will:
- Line manage 6-7 Residential Social Workers, each holding their own caseload
- Provide regular, high-quality supervision and professional guidance
- Oversee care planning, safeguarding, and outcomes for looked after children
- Work closely with residential services, local authorities, and partner agencies
- Support service development and quality assurance
- Report directly into the Head of Service
This is a hands-on role with regular travel to services to complete supervision and support staff.
Location & Travel
Office base in Stratford. Services located primarily in Central London, with a small number outside London. All travel expenses fully paid.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
- Strong post-qualifying experience working with looked after children
- Proven experience of supervising or managing social workers
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, care planning, and relevant legislation
- Confident, supportive leadership style with excellent communication skills
