We are delighted to be working with an established specialist investment management firm who are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer / MLRO to join their team on a part-time basis, approximately 2.5 days per week.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional with investment management experience to take responsibility for a key regulatory function within an established business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Isle of Man compliance function, ensuring the business continues to meet its regulatory obligations.

The firm is regulated by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (IOMFSA) as an Investment Manager and also operates within a US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulated environment.

The role will focus primarily on Isle of Man regulatory requirements, with external specialist support already in place for US SEC compliance matters.

Previous SEC experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Isle of Man regulated activities.
  • Maintain and oversee the compliance framework in line with IOMFSA requirements.
  • Provide compliance advice and guidance to the business.
  • Review, update and maintain compliance policies, procedures and controls.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and support the implementation of relevant changes.
  • Oversee AML/CFT obligations and ensure appropriate controls remain in place.
  • Support regulatory reporting and compliance monitoring activities.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience within investment management compliance.
  • Experience working within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Experience acting as a Compliance Officer and/or MLRO.
  • Strong understanding of AML/CFT requirements and regulatory frameworks.
  • The ability to work independently and manage a broad compliance remit.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience within asset management, hedge funds or investment firms would be highly desirable.
