Our client seeks a Test Lead to join their team. You will take responsibility for leading testing activities to ensure quality and reliability across the technology landscape. This role ensures adherence to testing standards, collaborates with development and change teams, and drives continuous improvement to deliver secure, high-quality releases. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead software testing teams on a variety of challenging and interesting projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Defining and executing test plans that ensure comprehensive coverage and quality, adhering to department strategy and processes, and implementing test standards and best practices across teams.
- Collaborating with Development, Change and business teams to align testing with delivery objectives.
- Proactively helping with testing to ensure team deadlines are achieved.
- Monitoring and reporting on test results, identifying trends and driving improvements, continuous improvement through adoption of new tools, techniques and automation opportunities.
- Managing test environments and data to support accurate and efficient testing.
- Coordination and support of UAT/BVT testing activities.
- Performance management and support of direct reports.
Key Skills & Experience
- ISTQB Foundation certificate in Software Testing is essential, ISTQB Advanced level is desirable.
- Minimum 5 years experience of testing, with at least 3 years in a senior/lead role.
- Experience of the Finance domain, and Life & Pensions in particular, is an advantage.
- Experience of test automation is an advantage.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to manage multiple workloads concurrently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to engage positively with and gain support from senior management/stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively, or on your own initiative, and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of Gherkin syntax, peer reviews and formal reviews.
- A genuine interest in technology and software testing.
