The Role:

Our client is seeking a Finance Business Manager (Finance & Governance) to support the Finance Manager and wider leadership team in delivering financial reporting, financial operations, governance requirements and business performance activities.

The role is primarily finance-focused, with additional responsibility for governance support, board reporting and contributing to business initiatives that support operational effectiveness and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical finance capability combined with the ability to work across governance, reporting and operational priorities in a structured and proactive way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and deliver accurate financial reporting.
  • Complete month-end processes including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
  • Support financial operations including payments processing, cash management and foreign exchange activity.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and coordination of the external audit process.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and support audit deliverables.
  • Produce and coordinate quarterly board reporting packs and financial MI.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance to support business decision making.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting outputs.
  • Support maintenance of financial controls and governance frameworks across the business.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across finance, risk and compliance to support governance and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Support delivery of business initiatives aligned to organisational priorities.

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred, with strong part-qualified candidates also considered depending on experience.
  • Strong background in management accounting, financial reporting or financial operations.
  • Experience working within month-end close processes and financial controls.
  • Exposure to external audit processes and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Confident working with a range of stakeholders across finance and non-finance functions.
  • Commercially aware with a practical, solution-focused mindset.
  • Governance, risk or board reporting exposure would be advantageous but is not essential.
