Role Profile
To manage the Group data lakes, management information and business intelligence systems, designing databases, enforcing quality standards, and ensuring compliance with privacy and security regulations. To bridge the gap between technical IT teams and business managers by transforming raw data into actionable intelligence, ensuring the organisation's data is accurate, secure and effectively managed to support business decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Governance & Policy: Establish and maintain policies for data collection, storage, and sharing across the business.
- Quality Assurance: Develop protocols to clean, validate, and eliminate errors from datasets.
- Database Management: Design, configure, and maintain database platforms and CRM systems.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure data handling protocols comply with regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR) and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate business needs into data requirements and present insights using reporting and visualization tools.
- Stay informed of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data management and analytics and identify opportunities to improve data processes.
Key Skills and Experience
- Education - Educated to degree level in IT, Computer Science or statistical methods, with relevant experience
- Experience - 3+ years in similar role
- Experience analysing complex data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to support business decision-making.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Manage and develop a small, high performing data team, including mentoring, 1:1s and continuous improvement initiatives

- Advanced proficiency in programming languages and database systems like SQL, Python, Oracle
- Solid understanding of data modelling / warehousing concepts and modern enterprise data architecture principles
- Knowledge of ETL development and Data Pipeline orchestration using Apache Kafka & SSIS
- SSAS Tabular Model development, DAX calculations/optimization, and Kimball-style dimensional data modelling (Star/Snowflake schemas)
- Data Visualization: Experience utilizing platforms such Power BI & SSRS, or similar BI software such as Tableau.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to evaluate integrity and interpret inconsistencies across large, complex datasets.
- Business Intuition: Understanding strategic organizational goals and identifying exactly what data is needed to measure success
- Communication: Ability to explain complex technical processes and present data-driven findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of data governance, quality, and lifecycle management
