Search² is supporting a specialist engineering and construction contractor in the appointment of a Health & Safety Consultant to support the safe delivery of multiple live construction projects in Leeds. Working as part of an experienced project team, you'll provide practical Health & Safety support across active construction works, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and in accordance with Principal Contractor responsibilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional looking for an immediate contract, with the potential for further project work beyond the initial 10-12 week assignment.

- You'll work alongside an experienced Health & Safety Manager and wider project team, allowing you to focus on maintaining high standards on site, engaging with contractors and providing practical Health & Safety support throughout the construction programme.
- With further projects already planned, there is a strong possibility of additional contract work for the successful consultant.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supporting the Principal Contractor in fulfilling duties under the CDM Regulations.
- Providing day-to-day Health & Safety support across multiple live construction projects.
- Carrying out site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
- Engaging positively with contractors and project teams to promote safe working practices.
- Monitoring contractor performance and supporting compliance with project standards.
- Assisting with Health & Safety documentation and site communications.
- Supporting incident investigations and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Providing practical advice to project teams throughout the construction phase.
- Helping maintain a positive Health & Safety culture across site activities.
What You Will Need
- Previous experience operating as a Health & Safety Consultant, Health & Safety Manager or Senior Health & Safety Advisor within construction or engineering.
- Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and Principal Contractor responsibilities.
- Experience supporting live construction projects.
- Confidence carrying out site inspections, audits and contractor engagement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A practical, pragmatic approach to Health & Safety.
- Availability to start at short notice.
- Experience supporting industrial, engineering or complex construction environments would be advantageous.
Package
- £350 per day.
