Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys working with different businesses, solving problems and having genuine ownership of client relationships? Search² is working with an established Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental consultancy to recruit a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join their growing team in Aberdeen.
Working with organisations across sectors including energy, construction, engineering and other safety-critical industries, you will provide hands-on Health & Safety and management systems support to a varied portfolio of clients. This isn't a role where you'll spend every day working within the same organisation. You could be supporting an engineering business with their ISO management system one day, reviewing compliance and closing out NCRs for another client the next, and acting as an outsourced QHSE Manager for a long-standing client later in the week.
The business is looking for someone experienced enough to hit the ground running, build credibility quickly with clients and independently manage a varied workload.
What you will be doing:
- Acting as a trusted Health & Safety / QHSE advisor to a portfolio of clients across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire
- Developing, implementing and maintaining ISO management systems, particularly ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001
- Supporting clients with legal registers, compliance requirements and ongoing Health & Safety management
- Conducting internal audits and supporting external certification and surveillance audits
- Identifying and closing out non-conformances and supporting clients with corrective actions
- Supporting clients with incident investigations, customer complaints and wider compliance matters
- Working directly with Managing Directors, Operations Managers and other senior client stakeholders
- Providing practical advice that reflects both legislative requirements and the individual needs of each client
- Acting as an extension of clients' internal teams, including operating as their outsourced QHSE Manager where required
- Supporting additional specialist work including DSEAR, noise and other occupational Health & Safety assessments where appropriately qualified
What you will need:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
- Previous experience working with ISO management systems
- Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001
Salary & Benefits:
- Up to £55,000 basic salary
- 28 days annual leave + your birthday off
- Performance-related bonuses
- Dental and healthcare cash plans
- Mileage
- Investment in CPD and further professional qualifications
Most client work is based across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, with a mixture of site visits, remote meetings and home-based administration depending on the requirements of each client.
If you are an experienced Health & Safety professional looking for greater variety, autonomy and exposure to different industries, apply today or contact Search² for a confidential conversation. If this role isn't quite right but you are considering a move within Health & Safety, QHSE, Quality or Environmental management, we'd still be interested in speaking with you.
Search² specialises in Health & Safety, Environment, Quality and Risk recruitment across the UK.
