An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Safety Consultant to join a growing fire consultancy practice. The role will involve delivering fire safety services across a diverse client portfolio, spanning sectors such as construction, manufacturing, education, logistics, care, and professional services.
You will be responsible for undertaking fire risk assessments across a wide range of premises, including complex and sleeping risk environments. The role also includes providing clients with practical solutions and expert advice on-site, in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Building Safety Act 2022, and relevant guidance.
Additional duties will involve supporting quality assurance processes, mentoring other consultants through workplace assessments, and occasionally delivering fire safety training. There may also be opportunities to assist clients with general health and safety needs, such as inspections and audits.
What we’re looking for:
- At least five years’ experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments, including in complex and sleeping risk premises.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Practical experience in compartmentation and fire door surveys.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, including Approved Document B, the Fire Safety Order 2005, and BS 9999/9991.
- Professional accreditation with IFE, IFSM, FRACS or IFPO.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to support both clients and colleagues.
- A detail-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel regionally and nationally as required.
- Health and safety qualifications and membership of IOSH or IIRSM are desirable but not essential.
