A leading risk management specialist is seeking a Deputy Head of Fire Safety to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of fire safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver fire consultancy services (FRAs, compartmentation surveys, fire door audits, etc.) across diverse sectors, ensuring compliance with legislation (RR(FS)O, Building Safety Bill, BS standards).
- Drive commercial success: manage pipelines, tender for new business, and oversee financial performance (forecasting, invoicing, profitability).
- Mentor teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure quality assurance under BAFE SP205 accreditation.
- Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and roundtables, enhancing our market reputation.
- Deputise for the Head of Fire Consultancy, with full support to transition into the role long-term.
About You
Essential:
- Professional fire safety accreditation (IFSM, IFE, or equivalent).
- Diploma-level (or higher) qualification in fire safety.
- 5+ years in compliance/safety, with demonstrable experience in fire risk assessments and consultancy.
- Expert knowledge of fire legislation, residential/social housing sector challenges, and BS standards.
- Strong commercial acumen: ability to scope projects, manage budgets, and win new business.
Desirable:
- Chartered status in a related discipline.
- 3+ years in a managerial/supervisory role.
- Experience presenting at industry forums or shaping policy.
