Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, including the maintenance of the 'golden thread' of information for higher‐risk buildings (HRBs).
  • Review third‐party risk assessments and audit reports, ensuring they are suitable and sufficient, and support the closure of actions.
  • Provide expert advice to property and facilities managers on all health, safety and fire safety matters, including management of high‐risk activities.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and investigations across the UK portfolio.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging safety training to staff and contractors.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring robust corrective actions are implemented.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance to senior leadership and for external audit purposes (e.g., ISO 45001).

The Ideal Candidate

  • A proven Health and Safety professional with experience gained within property management, facilities management, construction or a related sector.
  • In‐depth, working knowledge of UK health & safety and fire safety legislation, specifically relating to building safety and higher‐risk residential buildings.
  • An excellent communicator and influencer, able to build strong relationships with operational teams, clients and contractors.
  • Pragmatic, solution‐focused and capable of managing a varied and demanding workload.
  • Willing and able to travel regularly to sites across the UK.
  • Professional membership (e.g., IOSH, Institute of Fire Engineers).
  • Experience with digital compliance management systems.
  • Knowledge of emergency planning, Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) and Martyn's Law.
