Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Manager Food to join their team within their site near Leeds. Working closely with the Production team, Customers, Engineering, supply chain and employees, this will be a hands-on role with scope to shape and develop a high performing and effective Quality Team. You will be driving a Food Safety Culture throughout the site and working proactively and collaboratively with the production colleagues to ensure the company delivers on their commitments to their customers with respect to Quality and Food Safety matters.
The Role
- Manage and facilitate the delivery of site technical policies and procedures and customer codes of practice
- Overseeing all quality and food safety matters on site
- Develop, maintain and communicate customer specifications
- Ensure site internal GMP & Hygiene audits are carried out as per schedule and follow up on any findings
- Ensure technical aspects of new products are setup and tested prior to launch date
- Ensure full traceability is maintained throughout the process
- Actively participate in the site HACCP team
- Monitor and facilitate site technical KPI’s
- Ensure that the team of QA’s receive adequate training
The Person
- Have experience of working in a Senior Technical capacity within the food sector.
- Relevant Food Safety / HACCP training to a minimum Level 3
- The successful candidate will have a strong focus on results, and strong people management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of current HACCP principles and Food Safety Legislation.
