  • An Exciting Opportunity for an Experienced Children's Home Manager

Are you an experienced Children’s Registered Manager looking for your next challenge, with the opportunity to progress beyond home management into a senior operational or quality-focused position?

We are working with an established and expanding children’s residential care provider seeking an experienced and passionate Dual Registered Manager to oversee two small, established children’s homes in the Tamworth and Lichfield area.

Both homes accommodate up to two young people and are situated approximately five miles apart.

The services provide specialist care for children and young people with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious manager who wants to make a genuine difference to young people’s lives while developing their career within a growing organisation.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Competitive salary of £62,000-£68,000, depending on experience.
  • Additional Ofsted performance bonus scheme.
  • 35 days' annual leave, including bank holidays.
  • Two established, small residential homes, each accommodating just two young people.
  • Dedicated off-shift Deputy Manager support, working Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
  • Experienced Responsible Individuals and senior leadership team providing ongoing guidance and support.
  • Opportunity to progress towards a Quality Assurance or Operations position.
  • Established provider with multiple children’s homes and continued expansion plans.
  • Ongoing professional development and opportunities to contribute to wider service improvements.
  • Free on-site parking, wellbeing initiatives and additional employee benefits.

About the Role

As Dual Registered Manager, you will take responsibility for the leadership, management and regulatory compliance of two children’s residential homes.

You will play a central role in maintaining safe, nurturing and supportive environments where children and young people can develop independence, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Overseeing the day-to-day management and operational performance of both homes.
  • Leading, motivating and developing residential childcare teams.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, child-centred care and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintaining compliance with Ofsted requirements, the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Supporting young people with learning disabilities, autism and complex behavioural needs.
  • Overseeing care planning, risk assessments, staff development and quality assurance.
  • Building positive relationships with families, social workers, local authorities and other professionals.
  • Preparing for Ofsted inspections and driving continuous improvement across both services.
  • Working closely with Responsible Individuals and senior leadership to support the organisation's wider development.
  • An initial handover period with the existing Registered Manager will provide continuity and support as you transition into the position.

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have

  • At least one year's experience managing a children’s residential home.
  • Previous experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism and/or behaviours that challenge.
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and children’s residential care standards.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, maintain high standards and manage regulatory requirements.
  • A child-centred approach with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Previous dual-registration experience would be advantageous but is not essential for an experienced Registered Manager ready to take on additional responsibility.
  • Long-Term Career Development

One of the most attractive aspects of this opportunity is the potential to develop beyond traditional Registered Manager responsibilities.

For the right individual, there is a longer-term pathway towards Quality Assurance or Operations, allowing you to build on your management experience and contribute to service quality, regulatory standards and the wider development of the organisation.

This makes the position particularly appealing to an established Registered Manager who enjoys operational leadership but is ready to take the next step in their career.
