Overview
In this role, you assemble and lead a small deep drainage gang for a long-term civils project in Preston. You will oversee deep drainage installation, trenching, and pipe installation on 800mm-900mm lines, while ensuring safe lifting operations and site coordination. You’ll work closely with site teams to keep progress on track and quality high. This is an opportunity to contribute to a major drainage installation and demonstrate practical leadership on a multi-month project. The role offers hands-on field work with a focus on safety and reliability in a busy site environment.
Responsibilities
- Install deep drainage and 800mm-900mm pipes on site
- Carry out trenching and associated earthworks
- Coordinate and perform lifting operations related to pipe installation
- Operate or supervise 360 excavator activities when required
- Maintain safety and compliance for confined spaces work (Medium/High Risk)
- Support signaller/slinger duties where applicable
Key requirements
- Proven deep drainage experience
- CPCS / NPORS tickets
- Confined Space Medium/High Risk
- Slinger / Signaller where applicable
- CSCS
- Right to Work in the UK
- Full PPE
- Reliability and ability to commit to ~18 weeks
