Overview
In this Senior Finance Manager role, you will lead a fast-paced finance team in Leeds and own the full spectrum of transactional finance. You’ll develop staff, delegate workloads, and partner with senior stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting. The role combines hands-on finance work with people leadership and board-level interactions, contributing to governance and financial insight. Responsibilities
- Delegate and oversee the finance team’s workload and responsibilities
- Coach junior members to meet deadlines and develop skills
- Oversee ledgers, cash books, loan schedules and ensure accurate reconciliations
- Maintain accruals, prepayments, and amortisation schedules
- Prepare management accounts with variance analysis
- Lead VAT and CIS return submissions
- Supervise invoice processing and cash book maintenance
- Manage statutory accounts, audits, and financial reporting
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
- Present finance reports to shareholders and the board
- Act as escalation point to monitor progress and meet deadlines
Key requirements
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (essential)
- At least one year post-qualified experience (essential)
- Proven experience delegating tasks and managing staff workloads
- Experience in a professional finance environment
- Confidence in board-level interactions (desirable)
