Deliver luxury banqueting experiences across a large resort, leading events that delight guests and protect profitability. On-site across the resort, overseeing events within banqueting and wider meetings, incentives, conferences and events operations.

The role

As Banqueting Manager you will oversee event operations across the resort and occasionally at external locations, ensuring every function meets the highest standards of service. You lead and develop a sizeable banqueting team, including agency support, so every event runs smoothly and supports revenue goals. • Direct room set-ups, staff briefings, service delivery and breakdown, keeping function spaces, storage areas and equipment in excellent condition.
  • Act as a key on-site contact for organisers, hosts and VIPs, building strong relationships with planners, internal departments, suppliers, clients and guests.
  • Lead pre-event planning, including meetings, menu tastings and client handovers, and co-host pre-convention meetings to ensure smooth transitions from planning to delivery.
  • Oversee in-house AV equipment and basic client AV requirements, and coach senior team members so they can support events confidently in your absence.
  • Lead, train and motivate the banqueting and agency team, manage performance and rotas, control costs and inventories, respond to feedback and drive continual service improvement while upholding health and safety and local legislation

What we're looking for

  • Dynamic, energetic and hands-on leader with strong attention to detail and organisation.
  • Confident, results-driven approach with excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate fluently and eloquently in the local language.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets, including stock, payroll, sales and equipment.
  • Background in hotel banqueting management, including delivery of a range of events.
  • At least 3 years' experience demonstrating leadership responsibility and development of a large team.
  • Proven ability to supervise, train, motivate and coach team members, and to handle performance issues appropriately.
  • Good understanding of local laws and regulations, including health and safety requirements for events.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative team mindset.
  • Comfortable using computers, willing to learn new systems and support more paperless ways of working.

In return the position offers

  • Excellent salary
  • Career progression
  • Continuous training and development
  • Potential accommodation support for 6 months
  • Additional benefits i.e. discounted hotel stays, use of the leisure/spa facilities, discount on food and beverage
