Overview
In this role you will contribute to the technical delivery of civil engineering and groundworks projects, ensuring works are set out accurately and align with drawings and specs. You will work closely with site management to maintain safe, high-quality progress and comprehensive site records. You will identify technical issues, report them, and coordinate with subcontractors and the wider project team. You will bring strong setting-out capability and familiarity with surveying equipment, driving efficient, on-time delivery within a reputable Scottish contractor. Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying works according to project drawings, specifications and requirements
- Ensuring engineering activities align with approved designs and programmes
- Producing and maintaining site records, as-built drawings and QA documentation
- Liaising with Site Agents, Sub-Agents, subcontractors and project team to coordinate activities
- Monitoring site progress and reporting technical issues to management
- Ensuring works comply with health and safety procedures and quality standards
Key requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer in civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure projects
- Strong setting-out experience and use of surveying equipment (Total Stations and GPS)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction information
- Excellent communication and organisational skills; effective team member
- Relevant engineering qualification; proactive approach to health, safety and quality
