Registered Children's Home Manager - Complex Mental HealthLocation: Great Barr, BirminghamSalary: 80,000 per annum + Performance Bonus SchemeAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and ambitious Registered Children's Home Manager to lead an established 8-bed children's home in Great Barr, supporting young people with complex mental health needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable leader with a proven track record of managing larger residential services. This position is not suitable for a newly registered manager. We are looking for an experienced professional who can provide strong operational leadership, drive outstanding outcomes for young people, and ensure the home consistently delivers high-quality, therapeutic care. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide effective leadership and day-to-day operational management of an 8-bed children's home. Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards. Lead, develop, and inspire a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care and support. Promote positive outcomes for children and young people with complex mental health needs. Maintain high standards of safeguarding, risk management, and quality assurance. Manage staffing, budgets, occupancy, and resources efficiently. Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities, healthcare professionals, families, and external stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement and maintain a positive, child-centred culture throughout the home. Essential RequirementsLevel 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent recognised qualification).Previous experience managing a large children's residential home (3-bed or larger) or a dual-registered residential service. Significant leadership experience within children's residential care. Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and children's residential legislation. Demonstrable experience managing budgets, staffing, compliance, and service performance. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Full UK driving licence.
