Transport Operations Manager - Inverness £50,000 per annum Monday - Friday, Day Shift Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and driven Transport Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for the transport operation at our Inverness depot. Leading a team of 25, you will be responsible for delivering a safe, compliant, efficient and customer-focused transport operation. Key Responsibilities Take overall management for the day-to-day transport operation at depot level. Lead, coach and develop 2 Transport Managers and 1 Transport Coordinator and 22 drivers, ensuring high standards of performance, conduct and engagement. Take ownership of the legal and regulatory compliance of the transport operation, ensuring all statutory requirements are consistently met. Take responsibility for transport budgets and financial performance, ensuring expenditure is controlled and aligned with agreed business requirements Manage workforce planning, driver resource and operational capacity in line with business demand and budgetary requirements Maintain a strong health & safety culture across people, vehicles, processes and behaviours Oversee fleet standards and ensure vehicles are maintained, compliant and operated safely Manage performance, absence, conduct and disciplinary matters Ensure operational standards and customer service levels are consistently maintained Lead by example, promoting a culture of accountability, high performance and continuous improvementQualifications and Skills Must hold a valid Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) Proven experience in a transport management or senior transport leadership role Strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance, Operator Licence requirements, Working Time Directive, driver hours and tachograph compliancePackage and Benefits Competitive salary: £50,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with the opportunity to buy more Company pension scheme - contribute 4% and we'll match you, increasing to up to 6% after year 1 Life cover Health plan with money back on everyday medical costs for all the family And many more additional benefitsIf you are an experienced transport leader looking for your next challenge and have the leadership, commercial and compliance experience required to manage a busy transport operation, along with a Transport Manager CPC, apply now!
