Civil Operative / Groundworker - National Grid Person ESSENTIAL Location: Pembroke 400kV Substation, Pembroke Rate: £28 per hour Type: Temporary Contract Hours: 07:30-17:30, Monday-Friday Hours per week: 50 PAID Positions: 2 The Role: We are currently recruiting for 2 experienced Civil Operatives / Groundworkers to work on a major 400kV substation project in Pembroke. The successful candidates will support a range of civils and groundworks activities across the substation site, with a strong focus on drainage, ducting, excavation, concrete works and reinstatement. Key Responsibilities: Installation of surface water, foul water and oily water drainage. Installation of LV ducting and draw pits. Installation of HV ducting. Installation of LV and HV precast troughing. Excavation and installation of blinding. Placement of concrete for foundations. Backfilling and compaction of excavations. Carrying out hand excavations and safe digging around existing services. General groundworks and civil construction duties as required. Working safely in accordance with site procedures and HSG47 requirements. Manual handling and general site duties.Requirements: Previous experience as a Groundworker / Civil Operative, preferably on utilities, energy or substation projects. HSG47 / Safe Digging - 2 Day qualification is ESSENTIAL. Experience with excavation and groundworks. Ability to undertake drainage, ducting and reinstatement works. Full PPE must be available before starting on site. Strong commitment to health and safety.
