Search Consultancy is looking for an experienced, proactive Civil Site Supervisor to join a major civil engineering project in Newton Abbot. We are partnering with a well-established civil main contractor requiring an attentive supervisor to manage daily site operations, coordinate sub-contractors, and enforce high safety and quality standards.

The Role
- Site Supervision: Managing daily site operations, directing groundworks/civils gangs, plant operators, and sub-contractors to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Health & Safety Management: Delivering daily tool box talks, site inductions, enforcing RAMS compliance, and conducting ongoing hazard and risk assessments.
- Work Progress & Logistics: Monitoring daily output against project schedules, coordinating material deliveries, plant allocations, and managing site access.
- Quality Assurance: Inspecting ongoing works including drainage, foundations, deep excavations, and surface finishes to ensure strict adherence to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Client & Management Reporting: Working closely with the Site Manager, updating site diaries, logging shift records, and reporting on progress or technical issues.
Requirements
- Certifications: Valid SSSTS (Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS is mandatory.
- CSCS Card: Valid CSCS Gold Supervisory Card or Black Manager Card.
- First Aid: Valid First Aid at Work certificate is required.
- Experience: Proven track record supervising civil engineering, deep drainage, earthworks, or highways developments.
- Skills: Excellent communication, strong leadership, assertive attitude, and full IT literacy for site reporting.
- Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
