- long-term work Headcount: 2 Search Recruitment is looking for experienced Steel Fixers to join a long-term substation extension project at Pembroke, working in collaboration with a leading Tier 1 contractor.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Carrying out steel fixing and reinforcement works in line with project drawings and specifications.
Cutting, bending, positioning and tying reinforcement bars and steel mesh.
Installing reinforcement for concrete foundations, bases and other substation civil engineering structures.
Ensuring reinforcement is correctly positioned and securely fixed before concrete pours.
Working alongside the site civils team to meet project deadlines and construction requirements.
Following all site health and safety procedures and National Grid safety requirements.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area throughout the project.
Requirements:
Valid National Grid Persons ticket.
Relevant steel fixing qualification or certification.
Valid CSCS card.
Previous steel fixing experience, ideally on substation or major civils projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work on an established substation extension project, with a minimum of seven months available.
