Are you an experienced Groundworker holding a valid Slinger / Signaller ticket, looking for high-earning industrial civil engineering work in Teesside? Search Consultancy is recruiting a dual-skilled Groundworker with Slinger Ticket for an active, ongoing industrial project at Teesport. Offering a top-tier rate of £23.00 per hour (CIS), this position provides strong site continuity and steady hours for a competent operative capable of handling both heavy groundworks and crane/plant sling-lifting operations.
If you hold valid CPCS/NPORS accreditations, excel in drainage, slab laying, and pipework, and are trained to guide lifts safely on busy marine/industrial sites, we want to hear from you.
Your Role & Responsibilities
- Slinging & Signalling: Safely slinging loads, guiding crane/excavator lifting operations, inspecting lifting tackle, and communicating clearly via hand signals or radios to guide heavy plant lifts across site zones.
- Drainage & Deep Excavations: Laying concrete, plastic, and clay pipework, constructing manholes, backfilling, and working safely within trench support systems.
- Concreting & Formwork: Shuttering, pouring, tamping, and finishing concrete slabs, foundations, and machine bases.
- Paving & Edge Restraints: Setting out and laying kerbs, edgings, flag paving, and block paving to correct levels and falls.
- Ground Preparation & Ducting: Assisting with site clearance, duct laying for utilities, deep excavation work, and hand digging near buried services.
Requirements & Qualifications
- CSCS / Plant Tickets: Valid CPCS or NPORS Card with Slinger / Signaller category (strictly mandatory) alongside relevant CSCS Groundworker accreditation.
- Civil Groundworks Experience: Proven track record in heavy groundworks, deep drainage, and concrete works on industrial, commercial, or civil engineering sites.
- Slinging Expertise: Hands-on experience directing plant and crane lifts safely in high-activity areas.
- Tools & Kit: Standard groundworker hand tools and 5-point PPE (hard hat, high-vis jacket/trousers, steel toe boots, gloves, eye protection).
- Transport: Reliable transport to commute to Teesport daily.
- Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK (with valid photo ID for daily port security access).
