Job Description
The Site-Based Document Controller will be responsible for the efficient management, distribution and control of all project documentation on a major BESS/substation construction site.
Document Control
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date document management system for technical drawings, project correspondence, quality assurance documentation and other project records.
Distribution
Issue and track the latest revisions of drawings and documents to site teams, engineers, contractors and the wider supply chain, ensuring everyone is working from the correct information.
Compliance
Ensure all project documentation meets company, client and regulatory standards, supporting audits, quality checks and project compliance requirements.
Site Support
Act as the main point of contact for document-related queries on site, providing support to site managers, engineers, contractors and other members of the project team.
Filing & Archiving
Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy records, ensuring project documentation, certification and relevant records are correctly filed and archived.
Coordinate between office-based and site-based teams to ensure clear communication and alignment regarding document status, revisions and outstanding information.
Systems
Utilise electronic document control platforms such as Viewpoint, Aconex or Asite, while maintaining strict version control and ensuring all documentation is correctly uploaded and distributed.
Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and good IT proficiency are essential. Candidates should have experience using document management or document control systems, strong communication skills and a good understanding of construction, utilities, energy or infrastructure project documentation.
