We are looking for experienced Support Workers to join a mental health supported living service in Bury. The service provides step-down accommodation for individuals moving on from prison or long-term hospital stays, many of whom have a history of substance misuse and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting residents to develop independent living skills, including cooking, shopping, budgeting and household tasks.
- Supporting attendance at health, probation and external agency appointments.
- Working in line with individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Supporting community reintegration and encouraging independence.
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting concerns appropriately.
- Working closely with colleagues and external professionals to provide consistent support.
About You
Previous experience in mental health, supported living, substance misuse, challenging behaviour, homelessness, residential care or a similar setting is essential. You will need to be reliable, resilient, compassionate and confident working with individuals with complex needs.
