We are looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead a 3-bed children's residential home in Tyseley, providing high-quality care and support to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This is an opportunity for a strong Deputy Manager ready to step into Registered Management, or an experienced Registered Manager looking to join a growing, care-focused organisation. The organisation was established in 2010 and is led by owners with a genuine background in care. The focus is on providing quality care, developing strong teams and creating positive outcomes for young people.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who combines strong management ability with excellent people skills. You will be a confident team leader who can build positive relationships with staff, young people and professionals, while maintaining high standards across the home. The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience within children's residential care.
- Experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or a strong senior ready to progress.
- Experience supporting young people with EBD and complex needs.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- The ability to motivate, develop and manage a residential care team.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and children's residential regulations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to maintain high standards of care, compliance and practice.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and service development.
- The confidence to take ownership of the home and lead from the front.
Key Responsibilities
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the home, ensuring young people receive safe, consistent and high-quality care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the residential care team.
- Ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment.
- Promoting positive outcomes for the young people.
- Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
- Working closely with staff, families, social workers and other professionals.
- Managing staff performance, supervisions, appraisals and development.
- Supporting recruitment, induction and retention of the team.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and care planning.
- Monitoring the quality of care and identifying areas for improvement.
