Are you an Assistant Accountant looking to develop your management accounting experience within a supportive and collaborative finance team? I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established charitable organisation in Glasgow that is looking for a proactive Assistant Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already has a solid accounting foundation and wants to take greater ownership of month end, management accounts and financial reporting.
You will be joining a friendly and experienced finance team where you will have the opportunity to continue developing your skills while making a genuine contribution to the wider organisation.
The Role
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Preparing profit and loss reporting across multiple locations
- Calculating and processing accruals and prepayments
- Preparing and posting journals
- Supporting month end processes and financial reporting
- Reviewing financial information and identifying discrepancies
- Assisting with reconciliations and resolving accounting queries
- Using Excel extensively for financial analysis and reporting
- Communicating with colleagues across the wider organisation
- Taking ownership of your workload and ensuring deadlines are met
What We Are Looking For
- Strong Excel skills
- A solid understanding of accruals and prepayments, including the ability to calculate these independently
- Experience with profit and loss reporting
- Experience preparing and posting journals
- A good understanding of debits and credits
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A proactive approach with the confidence to use your own initiative
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also managing your workload independently
- A genuine desire to learn and develop within finance
