We are looking for an experienced Solid Works CAD Designer who understands how to turn a creative concept into something that can be manufactured beautifully—and correctly.

Joining an established, growing manufacturer, you will work on varied, high-quality projects where precision, practicality and finish genuinely matter.

This isn’t a drafting-only role. You’ll solve technical challenges, develop production-ready designs and work closely with colleagues across projects, commercial and manufacturing.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Creating detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Solid Works
  • Developing designs from architectural drawings, specifications and concepts
  • Producing component, assembly and production information
  • Identifying and resolving design or manufacturing issues
  • Managing drawing revisions across several live projects
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external project professionals
  • Ensuring every design is accurate, practical and ready for production
  • What we’re looking for
  • Strong commercial Solid Works experience
  • Experience producing detailed drawings for manufacture
  • A practical understanding of materials, construction methods and assembly
  • The ability to interpret architectural or technical design information
  • Excellent accuracy, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence communicating with clients, designers and manufacturing colleagues
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities

Experience designing products involving timber, sheet materials or fabricated components would be particularly advantageous.

Knowledge of CNC manufacturing or specialist Solid Works software would also be welcomed.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who thinks beyond the drawing: you’ll consider how each element will be made, assembled and finished.

  • What’s on offer
  • £35,000–£45,000, depending on experience and capability
  • Technically interesting and varied project work
  • A modern manufacturing environment
  • Supportive, experienced design and production teams
  • Permanent, stable position within an ambitious business
  • Free on-site parking

This is a full-time, office-based position in the Medway/Mid Kent area. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a practical CAD assessment.

If you’re a technically minded designer who takes pride in producing accurate, intelligent and genuinely manufacturable work, we’d love to hear from you
