Want to take ownership of fire testing and certification for safety-critical products? We’re recruiting for a growing technical manufacturer seeking an experienced Engineer—or a capable Technician ready to step up—to coordinate testing, maintain approvals and ensure products remain compliant. This is a varied, hands-on role spanning fire testing, technical documentation, CAD and liaison with external laboratories and certification bodies.

The role:

  • Coordinate fire-resistance and smoke-control testing
  • Prepare test samples, specifications, drawings and build details
  • Liaise with accredited test houses and certification bodies
  • Maintain test reports, assessments, certificates and technical data
  • Produce and amend 2D and 3D CAD drawings
  • Support audits, product sampling and certification reviews
  • Assess how design or material changes could affect existing approvals
  • Advise internal teams on relevant standards and compliance requirements

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in fire testing, certification or technical product compliance
  • Knowledge of standards such as BS 476, EN 1634 or relevant UL requirements
  • Confidence interpreting technical standards, test evidence and certification scopes
  • Experience working with laboratories, certification bodies or approval schemes
  • The ability to produce or amend technical CAD drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and clear technical writing skills

Experience involving passive fire protection, building products, doors, joinery, factory production control or regulated manufacturing would be particularly relevant.

Why apply?

  • Work across testing, CAD, certification and product development
  • Take ownership of meaningful, technically challenging projects
  • Develop deeper expertise in a specialist and safety-critical field
  • Join an established, growing business offering genuine progression
