About this job
Health & Safety Consultant (Construction) – full-time permanent. A rare opportunity to start a career path that may lead to senior leadership and eventual ownership of a boutique Health & Safety consultancy. The role is based in Cheshire with regional travel across the North West of England.
This position represents a succession hire. The current Managing Director will retire within five years, so this is a clear, tangible pathway into senior leadership and business ownership for the right individual. The company plans to continue growing; if you are interested in delivering consultancy services and do not necessarily seek future business ownership, we would also welcome your application.
What you will be doing
- Providing competent health & safety advice to construction and facilities management clients during the design and pre‐construction phases
- Supporting clients, designers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure compliance with CDM Regulations
- Conducting design risk reviews and hazard identification workshops
- Preparing and maintaining pre‐construction information and health & safety files
- Developing construction phase plans, risk assessments and method statements
- Undertaking site inspections and audits across live construction environments
- Providing ongoing health & safety support to contractors and sub‐contractors
- Monitoring statutory compliance for large property‐owning organisations across the UK and Northern Ireland
What you will need to be considered
- Experience in a health and safety role within a construction environment
- Auditing construction sites, producing RAMS and, ideally, pre‐construction information
- Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
Why this role stands out
- Genuine long‐term progression into senior leadership and business ownership
- Direct mentorship from an established Managing Director
- Exposure to a wide variety of construction projects and clients
- A respected consultancy with an excellent reputation in the market
- A role designed around growth, development and succession rather than short‐term cover
Next steps
The business is keen to move quickly and will be interviewing suitable candidates as applications are received.
