Here at Sealey, we are seeking to recruit a Technical Author to join our team based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. You will join us on a permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary plus benefits.
The Company
Would you like to work for one of the UK’s leading hand, power tool, and equipment distributors? Established since 1978, Sealey are the preferred choice for the trade within the automotive, agricultural, motorcycle, industrial and engineering market sectors.
Responsibilities as our Technical Author will include:
- Receiving instruction writing tasks from a variety of internal sources
- Compiling instructions based on supplier instructions, encompassing your own knowledge and experience
- Proofreading instructions from other Instruction Writers
- Liaising with Technical Compliance, Parts Department and Quality Control Workshop Engineers when compiling and finalising instructions for print or onward delivery
What we’re looking for in our Technical Author:
- Good general knowledge and understanding of hand tools and electrical and mechanical tools and equipment
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- The ability to work on several projects at once without direct supervision
- Someone highly organised, with the ability to work to deadlines while still maintaining attention to detail
- A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- A background or interest in a mechanical, electrical or automotive field
- Experience of InDesign and Photoshop would be an advantage, although not essential
