What you'll do:
- You will be responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of company equipment at customer sites.
- You will cover work in the South West, and South Wales, also with travel throughout the UK as required.
- This role ensures high levels of customer satisfaction therefore we are looking for a self-motivated, professional, reliable, and customer-focused person, who has strong attention to detail and commitment to quality with the ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing schedules.
Install, configure, and commission equipment of systems at customer sites.
Conduct functional testing to ensure equipment performance meets specifications.
Provide customer training on correct operation and maintenance.
Maintenance & Repair:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and carry out effective repairs.
- Document all service activities accurately using ServiceMax.
Customer Support:
- Act as the first point of contact for technical issues on-site.
- Provide clear guidance to customers regarding equipment operation and fault diagnosis.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or technical support when required.
- Evaluate customer needs, define their expectations, plan and organise service, maintenance or installation work.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Complete service reports and training documentation in a timely and accurate manner using ServiceMax.
- Maintain records of equipment performance, recurring issues, and recommended improvements.
- Provide feedback to engineering and product teams to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain open communication with Sales to ensure all information involving projects and customer activities is communicated.
- Manage specific projects as Team Leader or Team Member.
- Ensure timely progress for projects, reviewing and approving relevant documentation, analysing data regarding equipment performance, maintenance, replacements, corrective actions, customer needs and other project elements, and planning the most efficient execution of maintenance and installations.
Compliance & Safety:
- Comply with all company health and safety policies, risk assessments, and site-specific safety procedures.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with technical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all technical aspects of Sealed Air’s packaging systems.
What you'll need:
- Strong Pneumatic and Mechanical knowledge.
- Experience in field service, maintenance, or installation of technical equipment/machinery.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work independently and travel extensively throughout the UK, with overnight stays when required/at short notice along with very occasional weekends.
- Confident to train customers on machinery, deal with customers in a breakdown situation and build strong customer relationships.
- Be computer literate with windows-based programs.
- Full UK drivers licence.
- Knowledge of PLCs and robotics.
- Experience in automation, packaging, industrial machinery, or similar sectors.
- Experience with label software packages, ZPL files.
