What does a Production Manager do?
As a Production Manager (Value Stream Leader), you will lead the end-to-end manufacturing operation, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production targets.
You will be responsible for driving operational excellence across production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and logistics while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, you will optimize resources, develop people, and implement strategies that improve productivity, service, quality, and profitability.
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the manufacturing facility, providing strong leadership, direction, and accountability across production activities while leveraging people leadership, decision-making, and operational management skills.
- Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with safety policies and promoting a safe working environment through effective communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Manage manufacturing budgets and cost performance, partnering with finance teams to deliver business objectives using financial acumen, analytical thinking, and planning capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, maintaining operational standards through strong governance, risk management, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Value Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Additional business or commercial qualifications are an advantage.
- Professional membership of a recognized manufacturing or engineering institution is preferred.
Experience
- Proven experience leading manufacturing, production, or value chain operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing teams within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience delivering large-scale operational or transformation projects is highly desirable.
- Track record of driving productivity, quality, safety, and cost improvement initiatives.
