What you'll do:
An exciting opportunity to join the team as an Extrusion Operator who will assist in the running of Blown Film Extruders and the recycling line. Extrusion Operators work on a shift rotation covering 12 hour shifts on days and nights.
- Assist in the running of the Blown Film Extruders and recycling line
- Set up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure correct working order
- Perform operating testing procedures to ensure the machine works optimally during the production process
- Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift
- Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running speed
- Troubleshoot problems during machine operation
- Ensure that machines are producing quality product by managing periodic quality checks on output
- Ensure stocks of materials are ready and available at all times
- Create and maintain activity logs
- Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors/management
- Adhere to Health & Safety rules and department standards, performing regular safety checks
What you'll need:
- Knowledge of operating machinery
- Experience of working with blown film and cast film preferable
- Experience of working with hot polymers, blenders, profile extrusion and injection moulding would be an advantage
- Ability to understand standard operating procedures
- Effective communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Work well within a team
- Remain calm under pressure
