What you'll do:

An exciting opportunity to join the team as an Extrusion Operator who will assist in the running of Blown Film Extruders and the recycling line. Extrusion Operators work on a shift rotation covering 12 hour shifts on days and nights.

  • Assist in the running of the Blown Film Extruders and recycling line
  • Set up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure correct working order
  • Perform operating testing procedures to ensure the machine works optimally during the production process
  • Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift
  • Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running speed
  • Troubleshoot problems during machine operation
  • Ensure that machines are producing quality product by managing periodic quality checks on output
  • Ensure stocks of materials are ready and available at all times
  • Create and maintain activity logs
  • Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors/management
  • Adhere to Health & Safety rules and department standards, performing regular safety checks

What you'll need:

  • Knowledge of operating machinery
  • Experience of working with blown film and cast film preferable
  • Experience of working with hot polymers, blenders, profile extrusion and injection moulding would be an advantage
  • Ability to understand standard operating procedures
  • Effective communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Work well within a team
  • Remain calm under pressure
