Overview

New England Seafood International (NESI) was established in 1991 and is an importer and processor of premium fresh and frozen sustainable fish and seafood. NESI employs circa 850 people across three sites in the UK and imports a wide range of wild and farmed fish and shellfish from all around the world. We are part of the Sealaska Corporation, an Alaska Native corporation formed in 1971 and which is owned by 26,000 Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian shareholders, who are all bloodline descendants of the first settlers to the Americas. Job Purpose

To ensure the food safety, quality & legality of products produced during their shift as part of the company\’s due diligence and HACCP controls.

Responsibilities

Responsible for: The auditing of Raw materials, ingredients, finished products and manufacturing processes within their assigned area of production.

Key accountabilities

  • Assist in the effective implementation of all new products or changes to existing lines, and documentation through liaison with production, and control of product labelling.
  • Ensure that the company maintains compliance with the current BRC/ MSC versions, retailer COP\’s & Local Authority requirements to ensure compliance is being maintained at factory level.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Quality Management System in line with all recommended standards to ensure factory compliance at all times.
  • Monitor hygiene standards through audits to assist the site Quality Manager to ensure that standards are being maintained to the highest possible level at all times

  • Pre-operational hygiene audits
  • Scale verification
  • Facility and product temperature verification
  • Intake and despatch control and quality checks
  • Paperwork auditing and scheduled traceability challenges
  • Document control: updating the SOP and QR document files
  • Organoleptic taste panel and cooking
  • Microbiological sample collection, Data submission to laboratory web site, certificate file updating and gathering any retests when required
  • Quarterly water samples
  • CCP verification
  • GMP audits
  • Daily, weekly & monthly Glass and brittle plastic audits
  • Weekly fabrication audits
  • Update KPI reports

The shift is 4on – 4off 10am – 10pm.
