Seaking Electrical Ltd is a leading electrical engineering company delivering high-quality marine and industrial electrical systems across the UK. Our teams are currently supporting major shipbuilding and industrial projects, including new-build vessel electrical installations, testing, and commissioning activities.

We are expanding our team in Port Glasgow and have a range of exciting opportunities for skilled Electricians and Electrical Technicians to join us. Whether your background is in marine, shipyard, or industrial environments, we have roles suited to your experience — from installation through to testing, setting to work, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical installation and containment works (power, lighting, control, and data systems)
  • Cable glanding, termination, and testing activities
  • Setting to work and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment
  • Fault-finding and troubleshooting during system integration and trials
  • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
  • Ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and technical standards
  • Working collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and commissioning teams
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Time-served electrician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience in marine, shipyard, or industrial electrical work
  • Competent in installation, testing, and fault-finding
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Strong awareness of electrical safety and compliance with regulations
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team in a busy shipyard or industrial environment
Desirable:
  • ECS or JIB Gold Card
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • 2391 Testing & Inspection or equivalent
  • Experience with control systems, automation, or switchboard testing
  • Familiarity with commissioning procedures and documentation
  • CompEx certification (advantageous but not essential)
