THE FINER DETAILS:

  • Monday to Friday, 35-40 hours per week
  • Place of work: Hybrid work arrangement; multi-site across all Seahorse Nursery businesses

Seahorse Nursery is a family-run group of nurseries in Southfields and Wimbledon Park (SW19, famous for tennis). Purpose of post: HR compliance, EYFS statutory compliance in relation to safer recruitment, talent acquisition, talent development, responsibility for HR management system, working and up-to-date knowledge of government policy and ACAS best practice, to provide HR guidance and advice to the Directors and senior leadership team, oversight of recruitment including line management of recruitment administrator.

Requirements:

  • HR qualification and CIPD registration
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Technical skills: to be confident, accurate and fast using the Microsoft Office package, HR software (e.g. People HR), a range of websites, apps and social media (e.g. Indeed, Reed, Nursery World Jobs, Facebook, etc)
  • To be able to work accurately, with good attention to detail

Key areas:

  • Full oversight and record keeping responsibility of PeopleHR system for all nursery personnel. Updating monthly with any employee changes. Ensuring data is kept safe and secure.
  • To support with payroll and benefits administration
  • Providing HR support to the senior team particularly around disciplinary action and grievances
  • Supporting employee well-being and raising mental health awareness across all nurseries
  • Line management of the recruitment administrator
  • Being responsible for safer recruitment and ongoing suitability of all Seahorse employees including right to work checks
  • Develop and implement the company recruitment strategy
  • To oversee the onboarding process of new employees and strategy for talent acquisition
  • Support with active and passive recruitment on Job Boards (e.g. Indeed, CV Library, etc) and contact with potential new recruits
  • Developing relationships with Universities and Colleges - arranging to visit in person and developing a link for newly qualified individuals and graduates
  • Oversee organisation and running of employment stands at public venues and job shows
  • Deliver training related to HR and recruitment

Duties: Record maintenance; Recruitment and new hire process; Staff development and employee relations; Payroll and benefits administration; Other daily job duties and responsibilities.
