We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and skilled Phlebotomist to join our busy GP practice. You will provide a high-quality blood-taking service to patients, working as part of a supportive clinical team to ensure safe, accurate, and compassionate care.

As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for carrying out venepuncture procedures, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and supporting the smooth running of clinical services. The practice is actively involved in primary care research projects, and the postholder may assist with blood sampling and related tasks for approved research studies, in line with protocols and training.
Key Duties:- Carry out venepuncture for patients of all ages
- Correctly label, handle, and prepare blood samples for laboratory collection
- Support research projects by collecting samples as required and following study protocols
- Reassure and support patients throughout procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Follow infection control, health & safety, and clinical protocols
We are a busy, friendly GP practice caring for around 18,000 patients. Our clinical team includes 6 GP partners, 5 salaried GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Paramedics, and a pharmacy team with a prescribing pharmacist, an experienced treatment room team of 17 staff all supported by a large admin team including reception, secretaries and clinical coders. We are a forward-thinking practice, actively involved in research projects and proud to support medical and nursing students in their training.
Job Responsibilities:- Perform venepuncture in line with training and agreed procedures
- Ensure patient comfort, confirm consent, and verify patient identity
- Accurately label, store, and prepare blood samples for laboratory collection
- Record blood collection accurately in the patient record
- Ensure timely dispatch of samples to the appropriate laboratories
- Report any significant patient concerns to the GP or Nurse
- Liaise with and support the administrative and clinical teams
- Accurately document all care provided
- Participate in approved clinical research projects as required
