The PSV Engineer is responsible for carrying out maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and servicing of Public Service Vehicles to ensure fleet safety, reliability, and compliance with all legal and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on PSV vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
- Carry out MOT preparation and compliance inspections.
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and emergency repair requirements.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with DVSA requirements and company procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Use diagnostic equipment and workshop tools effectively.
- Report vehicle defects and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist with fleet improvement initiatives and reliability programmes.
- Participate in a rotating on-call rota, providing out-of-hours breakdown and engineering support.
