We have an exciting opportunity in our Holyoke location. The Animal Caretaker IV is responsible for attending and caring for pigs in our swine production facilities. On-the-job training is provided; related experience is not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring feed quality and water supply
  • Monitoring barn environment and ventilation systems
  • Breeding sows (if placed on sow farm)
  • Processing piglets (if placed on sow farm)
  • Loading and unloading pigs as scheduled
  • Maintaining farm cleanliness
  • Enforce strict safety guidelines and company animal welfare standards
  • Keep accurate inventory records of livestock
  • Ability to identify visual symptoms of common swine diseases, treat and vaccinate sick animals as necessary
  • Sort off and segregate hogs with disqualifying physical defects
  • Achieve PQA certification with the National Pork Board

Schedule

The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested.

Compensation

We offer a competitive pay rate based on your skills and experience related to this position. Our starting compensation for this position in Holyoke, CO is $18/Hr.
