About us
Sea Folk Cafe sits right on the beach at our Folkestone Harbour Arm site, the flagship of Sea Scrub Sauna. We serve hot coffee, cold beer, ice cream and proper cafe dishes to sauna-goers, swimmers and anyone wandering the Harbour Arm. Our kitchen is small, friendly and busy, especially when the sun’s out.
The role
We’re looking for someone to join our kitchen team. You’ll cook our range of cafe dishes to order, keep the kitchen running smoothly, and help us make the food as good as the view.
Weekends are our busiest time, so full availability across August weekends is a must. Beyond that, hours are flexible and there’s plenty of weekday work available too.
What you’ll be doing
- Cooking our cafe dishes to order during service periods.
- Prepping ingredients and keeping stocks topped up.
- Practising good stock rotation and finding creative ways to minimise waste.
- Placing orders in coordination with the cafe supervisors.
- Helping develop new dishes and refine recipes.
- Keeping allergen information and our food safety plan up to date.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen and store cupboard, including regular deep cleans.
What you’ll bring
- You’ve cooked in a commercial kitchen before and know your way around a busy service.
- Full availability for weekends in August.
- A keen interest in food and wellness.
- Strong communication with the team, and a friendly, relaxed manner with customers.
- A positive, upbeat attitude, even when the orders are flying in.
