Fancy working with magnificent sharks or cheeky sea turtles? SEA LIFE Brighton are on the lookout for an Assistant Aquarist to join their team.
Working here feels pretty outstanding, but also very cold, wet, and rather smelly at times! Therefore, we\'re looking for someone who strives for the best and wants to develop a good understanding of aquarium animal care.
In this exciting role you\'ll learn how to make an aquarium interactive, immersive, and help provide the best in memorable experiences for our guests and creatures alike.
You will assist in the preparation of suitable diets and feeding of all livestock, learn how to ensure the safety of our creatures through maintenance of life support systems and assist with the management of displays records. You will also play an essential role in assisting with the maintenance of our exhibits to the highest possible standards.
This role is permanent, offering a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. Our SEA LIFE Centre is open daily; therefore, shifts will include regular weekends, and bank holidays on a roster basis.
Qualifications & Experience
- Ideally, you\'ll have studied marine science or animal care and looking for a fun way to expand your knowledge
- You\'ll already have a passion for the ocean, it\'s creatures and conservation
- Be keen to learn and develop your skills
- Ideally, you will have some experience of working within a customer service environment, but the ability to relate to your colleagues and our visitors is a must!
